Kaka: I want to win Ballon d'Or as Real Madrid player

Kaka says he's moved to Real Madrid to win another Ballon d'Or.

The former AC Milan star declared: "I want to win another Ballon d'Or as a Real Madrid player. To achieve that individual honor requires major trophies. I am fortunate to belong to a club capable of winning many titles.

"That was the main criteria for my choice: to be part of a team that will allow me to remain in the history of world football "

Kaka says he still can improve as a player.

"The left-side of my game and my mind is weak. I need to improve tactically and physically " said the midfielder.

"I learned a lot in Italy, especially in the tactical aspect."

Kaka voted star of Confed Cup

Spanish giants Real Madrid's recent signing Brazil midfielder Kaka was awarded the Golden Ball on Sunday after being voted best footballer at the Confederations Cup.

Striker Luis Fabiano, a teammate in the side that came from two goals behind to defeat the United States 3-2 in the final, finished second and American midfielder Clint Dempsey third.

Fabiano collected the Golden Boot for being leading scorer with five goals and USA goalkeeper Tim Howard received the Golden Glove as the best in his position at the dress rehearsal for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Kaka paid tribute to his teammates for taking Brazil to the title and allowing him to win the player of the tournament.

"I'm very happy to be player of the final and championship," said the former AC Milan man whose transfer to Madrid becomes official on Tuesday.

"Most important, as I've said before, I can only be player of the tournament because Brazil are the champions and if they weren't then I wouldn't get this award, so I would like to thank my teammates."

Asked about his new start at Real Madrid, Kaka said: "With respect to my new life at Madrid, I will talk about it on Tuesday when I'm officially their player."

"I've managed to get my first cup and I hope the winning ways will continue in future in this new phase of my life."

Kaka will be presented at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on 30 June

Fans have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Kaka will be presented at 20:30 CET on 30 June at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. He will arrive straight from South Africa, where he's been playing in the Confederations Cup.

Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, aka Kaka, became Real Madrid's first signing for the following campaign on 8 June. "I would rather win titles with Real Madrid than personal awards," he said in a press conference, "It is a beautiful challenge to play for Real Madrid. We will win titles again." Kaka has been the centre of attention throughout the Confederations Cup, proving to be a leader on the Brazilian team both on and off the pitch. Fans wishing to do so may attend his presentation at the stadium on Tuesday.

Kaka will face the USA in the final of the Confederations Cup before travelling to Spain to see one of his dreams come true.

It won't be the first time the Brazilian visits the Bernabeu. He did so in 2002 when he was just 20 years old as part of the international team that played against Real Madrid in the Club's centenary celebrations. He was then unknown to Madridistas, but he was one of the stars of the match thanks to his passes and an incredible goal.

Kaka repeats Milan stance

AC Milan's Brazilian superstar Kaka has again insisted that his long-term future lies at the San Siro.

The 26-year-old forward almost left Italy to join Manchester City in a world record deal in January, before deciding to stay put.

More recently Kaka has been mentioned as Real Madrid's main transfer target for next summer, but the South American is as committed as ever to the Rossoneri.

He commented: "I have already said and already shown that I am committed to this club, so there is nothing else to add.

"I truly enjoy myself at the San Siro and am happy with the support I receive here."

He had earlier been quoted as telling Nemzeti Sport: "I said no to the offer from Manchester City because I think I will have lots of success here with AC Milan.

"After I've received so much from Milan, it was essential for me to stay.

"It's hard to say anything about the future because football is the game of the moment, so I can just talk about my present feelings.

"Real Madrid is an amazing team with outstanding players, but I'd never say that I want to leave Milan."

Kaka- Gerrard Would Suit Milan

AC Milan playmaker Kaka believes a player like Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard may be needed to help the Rossoneri return to the summit of Italian and European football.

The two have competed against each other in two Champions League finals, but Milan did not play in this year's competition and they are also on the verge of seeing city rivals Inter win a fourth successive Serie A crown.

Kaka believes someone like Gerrard would make Milan a very strong team again.
"I like modern football, I like players that know how to attack and defend," said Kaka.

"If it was up to me, I would sign someone like (Steven) Gerrard, who for me is a complete player.

"He can play in any position, as a playmaker, midfielder, right-sided midfielder and he would look good at Milan."

Kaka is well aware the Rossoneri must strengthen their squad if they wish to compete for silverware next season.

"A cycle is ending, a new one will begin," he said. "The time has come to refresh the squad.

"You can have a mix of experience and young players with the will to win."
Gerrard recently extended his contract with Liverpool, which will see the England midfielder remain at Anfield until June 2013.

Kaka Admits Premier Appeal

Brazilian star Kaka has hinted he could seek a move to the Premier League if he leaves AC Milan.

The skilful playmaker was strongly linked with a record-breaking transfer to Manchester City in the winter transfer window, but a switch failed to materialise.

Kaka, 26, has been playing in Serie A for six years, since signing for Milan from Sao Paulo in 2003, and admits England's top flight is a tempting destination.

He said in the Daily Star: "I like the Premier League a lot, so maybe that would be my choice if I leave Milan.

"Whenever I can, I try to swap experiences with my friends playing in other countries and leagues.

"All the players that I've talked to that play in the Premier League, or used to play there, say it's a tough league - tough, very fast and competitive."
